A Word from the President

The apostle Paul wrote, “I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise. So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.” (Romans 1:14)

Let us also resolve, as much as in us is, to preach the gospel to the world! One very effective and economical way to do this is by way of the Internet and the World Wide Web.

Within the last 30 days, people have accessed biblestudyworkshop.org from Australia, the Bahamas, Barbados, Canada, China, France, Ghana, Germany, Great Britain, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, the Ivory Coast, Japan, Latvia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Romania, the Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, the United States, and other countries.

Would you please help to support this work with your prayers and financial contributions. Your tax-deductible donations should be mailed to Don Campbell, Treasurer; Landmark Publications, Inc., 1596 Country Haven Trail; Mt. Juliet, TN 37122, USA.

Board Meeting Information
December 12, 2009

The Board of Directors met on December 12, completing three years of existence. At the meeting on December 6, 2006, the Advisory Board to John Sewell in his work of biblestudyworkshop.org, became the Board of Directors, with John as President. The By-Laws for the corporation were adopted on this date. Except for one, the Board members and officers remain the same today. The nine (9) Board members are staggered in service. Each one serves a period of two (2) years with election each year of either four (4) or five (5) members. Officers are elected each year.

At the 2006 meeting, it was announced that the web site had had 2,708 hits as of November 30, and John’s hope was for 1,000 per day. At the recent December, 2009, meeting, it was announced that there had been 891,786 hits as of December 1. Responses to the web site are coming in from around the globe. God is using His word powerfully; it does not return to Him empty (Isaiah 55:11).

To Our Friends & Supporters

Non-profits have taken a hit this year because of the economic conditions in our country, and this fledgling non-profit is no different. We are thankful to so many of you who have continued your financial support of the work. We are equally grateful to you for your prayers on our behalf. There have been unexpected sources of prayer and funding, and we thank God for all of you! The following responses to the web site have been an encouragement:

From Dallas, TX, a brother wrote, “Wonderful site and has a good range of study material.”

From India: “Good day in Jesus name. Here in India we preach the good news in remote areas. Please remember us in your daily prayers.”

Another brother wrote, “I came to your site today for the first time. It looks like a very helpful resource. I looked at Revelation because I am preparing a series of lessons on it. Keep up the good, i.e., the Lord’s work."

From Northwest Georgia, “Thank you again for this helpful material.”

Your support helps to make these responses possible!

Give Me the Bible

Give me the Bible, star of gladness gleaming,

To cheer the wandrer lone and tempest-tossed;

No storm can hide that radiance peaceful beaming,

Since Jesus came to seek and save the lost.

Give me the Bible when my heart is broken,

When sin and grief have filled my soul with fear:

Give me the precious words by Jesus spoken,

Hold up faiths lamp to show my Savior near.

Give me the Bible, all my steps enlighten,

Teach me the danger of these realms below;

That lamp of safety oer the gloom shall brighten,

That light alone the path of peace can show.

Give me the Bible, lamp of life immortal,

Hold up that splendor by the open grave;

Show me the light from heavens shining portal,

Show me the glory gilding Jordans wave.

Give me the Bible, Holy message shining;

Thy light shall guide me in the narrow way;

Precept and promise, law and love combining,

Till night shall vanish in eternal day.
